Procarsa Coating Plant

Procarsa applies in its own facilities all systems related to the Exterior Coating based on Fusion Bonded Epoxy, Three-layer Extruded Polyethylene and Three-layer Extruded Polypropylene, additionally we have our own “Internal Coating plant.”

Three-layer Coating Systems are the best systems to protect line pipe against corrosion and high temperatures.

These systems combine the great chemical and adhesion properties of the powdered epoxy resin (FBE) with the physical and mechanical advantages of polyethylene and, in the case of polypropylene, its good performance at high temperatures.

Three-layer coating:

The tube is cleaned with metal grid and preheated to apply a first layer of Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE).

When the FBE is still in its gel state, a layer of copolymer adhesive is extruded there on, followed by a layer of Extruded Polyethylene or Extruded Polypropylene until the desired thickness is obtained.

Polyethylene Coating is suitable for temperatures between -40 ° F and 176 ° F (-40 ° C and 80 ° C).

The Polypropylene Coating System is used for temperatures up to 248 ° F (120 ° C).
